History of Chios

Since the early Neopolitical period, an important island civilization has developed along the northern Aegean, to which Chios and Psara belong. The settlers have been affected from the appropriate ecological conditions since earliest times, and the settlement has continued to this day.

It's just an unresolved question about who the first settlers are. There are three versions; the first one is related to the Pelasgians (one of the Ancient Greek peoples) because of the names of the first settlers, up to now, such as Pelinaion, Kronos, Dotion, Larisson and others.

According to the second adaptation, Dionysus of the first settlement or Oinopion from Crete, the son of Theseus and Ariadne. His daughter's name, beautiful girl after Chion, took the name Chios (Gum).

Probably the last belt of the colonies after Ions was Euboeans from Abantes. Traditions point to a king named Amphiklos, After four generations, King Hektor expelled the previous indigenous people to exchange with a soothsayer from a Delphi.

The destruction of the Mycenaeans' migration to Emborio is at the beginning of the Ionian colonization, and these events are probably reflected in the domination of the racial elements that have begun the history of an Ionian Chios Island.
